The Pops silkscreen is a heartfelt tribute to my father, Rochus "Roy" Ell, a true master of the arts. A carpenter by trade and a self-taught musician, he possessed an extraordinary ability to hear a piece of music and effortlessly play it on a variety of instruments, with the accordion being a favorite. His remarkable talent for building and creating from vision alone was nothing short of inspiring. Roy will always be remembered as my hero, embodying creativity, skill, and passion in everything he did. This work captures not just his legacy but the profound impact he had on my life and the lives of those around him.
